New smart transmitter technology simplifies operation by adjusting transmitter power output to match line condition. User may also choose to adjust manually.
Direct Connection Mode where the transmitter is directly connected to the metallic service and to ground connection, enabling AC current to travel length of conductor and return back through the ground stake, creating a perfect signal loop.
External Coil Mode enables locating and tracing services encased in non-metallic PVC duct or for locating larger diameter metallic pipes. Can also be used on energized insulated conductors up to 600V. Capable of functioning as a general service locator throughout industrial and municipal applications.
Pushbutton Depth is accurate once precise location is determined. The distance from the receiver to the buried utility (up to 16 foot depth) is displayed by touching the 'DEPTH' button.
Peak mode pinpoints location for accurate excavation and depth calculations. The percentage of current measured by receiver coils is displayed, increasing or decreasing as receiver is moved toward (or away) from the buried service.
Passive Mode locates live 50/60Hz power lines and telecommunication lines without the use of the transmitter. The frequencies of both (50-60Hz and 9KHz-33KHz) are programmed into the receiver. Current must be flowing on the line.
